We Will Not Revolt - The Oligarchy is a Done Deal

http://digg.com/politics/Top_Senate_Democrat_Bankers_Own_the_U_S_Congress
part of me wants to revolt and show the world how wrong this system really is. I see the corruption from all sides and am disgusted by the blatant abuse of the American people. Then I think about the revolution that would have to be created to make real change in our society. I have three children, a wife and a job. I can say that I am not willing to sacrifice the safety of my family. It makes me mad to think about it but the truth is My Lemming life is not that bad. I do not know the line in the sand that will force me to take action. Unfortunately knowledge of the corruption is not enough.

  • It's really sad that the 2nd amendment that was created to make sure us as citizens would always be armed that would truly overthrow our government the way it's become just doesn't matter when a single tank just can't be stopped without explosives. The only way a revolution will ever occur is if it starts in the military where an extremely renowned leader most likely a General or rank near to it actually flat out calls on his men and women to openly seize their bases and armories, and they are loyal enough to believe he isn't seeking to become a military dictator and will commit to his uprising.

I think if that truly happened a revolution would be successful quickly and with minimal bloodshed. I really don't believe you could convince other American soldiers to kill Americans that are standing up for the Constitution.

    • I completely agree. As a former soldier myself I would stand behind that leader. The politicians are the ones that pick the leaders that high up in the military. The reform army after WW2 was the closest thing we ever had.
    • I disagree. Such a revolution should NOT be started by a General or anyone of Flag rank. Such a thing would start a dangerous precedent of the army overthrowing any domestic government they don't agree with. It's too much of a slippery slope.

Um, no. The only way a revolution will ever occur is if each and every one of us makes a personal commitment to return to the values of our Founding Fathers and then demand the government reform itself. Stop doing business with banks that profit from the system, stop drowning yourself in debt in order to have that flashy car and expensive house, be fiscally responsible in your own life and demand your elected representatives do the same. If they don't, then either campaign to get someone elected who will be fiscally responsible or run for office yourself.

If you sit around waiting for a leader you have already been defeated. We the people hold the sovereign right to govern the nation and the only way career politicians can steal that right and sell it to the bankers is if we let them.

Study the issues. Study the bills. Write to your representatives and tell them how you expect them to vote. If they go against your will, then campaign against them with every tool you have available.

It's not up to to some general, and it's not up to some reformist politician. You hold the sovereign right to govern the nation. Learn how to use it effectively.

    • Our all volunteer force took an oath to first and foremost "uphold and defend the constitution" not the aristocracy. I find it hard to believe that the majority of our men and women in the armed forces would follow orders to harm the citizens they defend.

  • You are not alone. Everyone is afraid to take up arms. The current administration is doing its best to make us afraid to own any arms.

We are letting our apathy and our desire to not have our lives disrupted cause us to capitulate and give them victory over us. We are meekly asking that it not be too painful and not cost to much. It falls on dead ears. We are going to continue to lose our liberty and freedom.

    • Speak for yourself. I think there are a lot of people who treasure true freedom, and are brave enough to hear the call. I just can't believe how many people criticize them for it.
    • It will be damned difficult for me to fend off a swat team when they want to search my house for guns.
I might fall into the group with my guns if it is lead by the military and that same swat team. That will be the only successful revolt in this country. Not by armed citizens alone.
As citizens we may well face the police and possibly even the military, that is why no one really wants to start that revolution. It would be futile and fatal.
